A better tomorrow starts today.

For Parents

Welcome to Autism In Action®! Whether you suspect your child has an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or have already received an autism diagnosis, we truly appreciate the time you are spending with us today. We are not parents of a child on the autism spectrum and therefore can never fully comprehend your unique and challenging journey. What we can do however, is share our more than 50 years of combined experience in the field of autism and applied behavior analysis (ABA) with you.

We view parents as critical to their child’s development and as active participants in their learning. Having worked in your homes, we understand that the time commitment and financial demands of parenting a child with autism is often exhausting. For this reason, Autism In Action® has developed a series of Autism “How-To” Teaching Programs to help you help your child achieve success in a realistic and cost effective way. Whether you want to use ABA to decrease problem behaviors, work on toilet training and other basic self-help skills, help your child communicate more effectively, or teach them how to interact with others, these step by step teaching programs will guide you through exactly what to say and do. You can view a Sample “How-To” Teaching Program or the entire collection in the Autism “How-To” Teaching Programs section. If you don’t find what you need please Contact Us as we are continually developing additional “How-To” Programs. You might also find the Frequently Asked Questions and Autism Facts sections useful, whether for your own information or for helping family members, friends, neighbors, caretakers, and others better understand ASD.

In closing, we want Autism In Action® to be a place you can come for reliable information and where you know you are valued as an important part of your child’s learning and development. We wish you well throughout your journey and want you to know that “a better tomorrow starts today”.

Sincerely,

Beverly and Susan
